I studied a History BA at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated with a 2:1 in 2018.

Since then I have worked as a graduate teaching assistant and I am currently working for HS2 Ltd as a Creative Project Assistant in the branding and marketing department whilst I research beginning a Masters in Modern History.

One thing I would say about Campion is that I look back at my time in the Sixth Form with such fond memories! Studying History has been a great passion of mine and that’s down to the History department and teaching staff at Campion. I believe my time at sixth form most certainly equipped me with great transferable skills I have been able to use throughout my degree and the early stages of my career.

I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 degree in Law in 2019 and I have now been accepted onto a scholarship to complete my Masters in Business Analytics and Management. In the future I hope to join a Management graduate scheme.

One thing I would say about Campion is that looking back I know now that when my teachers told me that working hard for those two years would set me up for the rest of my life they knew what they were talking about! Give it your all.

I studied Law at Coventry University and then completed my final year at the University of so that I could take advantage of the greater job opportunities in the capital city. I have since worked as a Legal Assistant, a Legal Adviser, a Finance Associate and I am currently a Paralegal.

One thing I would say about Campion is that when I was there I was given so many opportunities: I really would like you to pass on to sixth formers to take advantage of the networking options the sixth form puts forward. I loved working with Envision and know now that I should have established better bonds with the businesses and charities that were put forward as extracurricular. All the little life lectures you gave us have finally been understood! The environment you keep is very important and it has been so exciting to watch my friends grow and develop around me.

After leaving sixth form I got a factory job working as a machine operator for 2 years, after the first year I was offered the chance to go and study engineering at Walsall college at level 2, before progressing on to level 3 and being offered a job in the company tool room where I worked for another 2 years. I was then offered the job in the design office, whilst continuing my studies.

I am now a year into a mechanical engineering degree course, as well as being a fully qualified tool maker and mechanical design engineer. I have worked hard in my job, enough for my company to put trust in me to get my degree. As well as working full time earning a full time wage, I’m getting my university fees paid for with no debt afterwards, I have done this through an apprenticeship.

As for some advice, I would say to just give as much as you can to your time in the Sixth Form to ensure you set yourself up for the next stage.

Sixth form helped me to realise what the real world was like because there is a big difference between school and sixth form studies. In sixth form it gives you the first stage of what it’s like to work for yourself, ultimately in sixth form the more effort you put in the more you will get out in the long run, much like being in the work place or university.

Liam is a Lecturer in Criminology and First Year tutor at Birmingham City University.

Having completed a BA (Hons), an MA and a PhD in Criminology at Birmingham City University, Liam joined the School of Social Sciences as a member of staff in 2014, working as a Visiting Lecturer. In 2015, Liam was appointed as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant (GRTA) and began studying towards a doctorate in Criminology.

Liam’s PhD level research focused on cases of homicide which involved the murder of a British citizen
in a foreign country.

When I left Sixth Form, I studied for a Psychology BSc and graduated with First Class Honours in 2019

After this, I graduated with my Masters in Forensic Psychology with a Distinction during Covid, whilst also working as a mental health care assistant in various mental health hospitals around Birmingham and West Bromwich, usually with criminals who are serving sentences there instead of prison.

I am now an Assistant Psychologist, working with looked after children who are living in a therapeutic community home.
There, I deliver a therapeutic intervention programme to support them in overcoming childhood trauma.

Since leaving St Edmund Campion Sixth Form I have completed my Batchelor’s Honours Degree at Rose Bruford College in Kent studying Theatre Arts. In my time at university I have learned singing technique, fitness regimes, the practical elements of theatre & theories behind it and how the arts affects people of all ages.

Since graduating, I now work with children of 2-5 years of age in a Forest School teaching them how dancing and singing can help their bodies and the different ways we can move our bodies to keep them healthy and happy. I love seeing the positive effects on the children’s development of mind and body.

St Edmund Campion Sixth form helped me to build confidence in my self and not to worry how others view me. As long as you are comfortable and happy don’t worry what others may think or where they are in their life: focus on your goals.

After leaving the Sixth Form in 2021, Daud was accepted into Keele University where he is currently studying for a BSc in Philosophy and Psychology.
Alongside this, he holds down a role as an accounts assistant for a small business.

‘Sixth form taught me independence in regard to work and looking after yourself, which made my transition to living an independent life at university much easier.

Bartlomiej “Bart” Stawera was one of the first students to study a history course at Aston University. His History and International Relations degree included a placement year which he completed at a charity called City Year as a student mentor where he was further able to develop his character and employability skills.

During his final year, alongside my studies and a part-time job, he also appeared on ITV’s ‘The Chase’. Soon after, he finished his dissertation titled ‘’Collaboration or cooperation? How significant was Jewish collaboration with the Nazi Party in persecuting Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto from 1940 to 1943?’’, which he achieved a First in.

He secured a job at HMRC as a Tax Specialist Trainee in their programme and volunteered at the Commonwealth Games as an Accreditation Team Leader.

Salar left Campion in 2018. He joined the University of Law and graduated in Law (LLB) with a 2:1 in 2022.

After graduation, he continued on to the Bar course (BPC) combined with the masters (LLM) and he is due to be called to the Bar in March 2023.

Alongside his studies, Salar is a Director of his own business, AMC Car Sales Limited.

I am currently in my first year at Swansea University, studying Sports and Exercise Science. I have chosen to come to this particular university, to focus on myself and develop certain life skills to prepare me for the future. During my third year of University, I have been given the opportunity to study a year abroad in
America, which is exciting as I can further enhance my studies to make sure I can take my research to the next level.

If I was to choose one thing to say about the Campion Sixth Form community. it would be how well it prepared me for the next steps in life. At the start of sixth form, I didn’t believe that I would manage to get through the two years being there, let alone getting accepted to a university. This just shows that even though you may not believe in your own potential, there are people around you who can see what your potential is and will push you to reach your end goal.

After leaving Campion in 2021, I joined Birmingham City University to study an Illustration BA

Since joining BCU I’ve had my work shown in multiple exhibitions and even commissioned a piece. I’m looking forward to collaborating with companies and other students with close ties to the uni.

My time at Campion definitely helped me gain the confidence that I needed to push myself to show off my work and get more of a presence. Without it I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now.

Beth joined Campion to study her A Levels in 2017.

Beth graduated with a First Class degree in Law from the University of Liverpool in 2022.
