The Governors of St Edmund Campion Catholic School wish to appoint a Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead to be part of the school leadership team. This is a non-teaching role and arises due to the forthcoming retirement of the current postholder. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a deep interest in the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be:
- Very well organised and meticulous in their record keeping
- Understanding of the position of senior leader as role model for staff and pupils, holding staff to account as necessary
- Knowledgeable of all matters around safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Able to disseminate key information to all stakeholders including regular training of staff
- Knowledgeable of agencies around safeguarding

Main purpose of the role
Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) is a charity launched in 2013 by Birmingham Headteachers to secure a deeply good education for every child in Birmingham addressing the social and the civic as well as the academic needs of our children. Birmingham Education Partnership and the North Area Network are jointly seeking an experienced school pastoral professional to support the successful placement of children on “Off Site Directions” from secondary schools within the North Area Network, to other schools and / or alternative provisions.
You will lead on supporting children who are on placements from schools within the North Area Network. This will involve regularly monitoring placements and intervening where necessary; working closely with parents, carers and professionals; and most importantly working directly with the children themselves in a mentoring capacity. Regular travel between schools will be required, as well as some visits to children’s homes.
This role is perfect for an ambitious, motivated and organised individual with deep experience of working in a pastoral capacity in school settings and who is passionate about improving the life chances of children.
Due to travel required as part of the role, the successful applicant will require their own transport and the salary offered includes costs related to travel between sites in the role.
