Message from the Principal

17 February 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

It has been an amazing week here at Campion with our very prestigious production
of Matilda taking place. We have had two nights so far and the final showdown is
this evening. I have had the enormous pleasure of attending each of the evenings
and it has been a special occasion on each night with tonight’s finale promising to
be amazing. This is the first opportunity we have had to put on a school production
since Covid so this has been extra special for me and seeing such amazing talent
on stage has been inspiring. I would like to thank Mr Bishop, Mr Jenkins, Miss Cattell
and Mrs McCormack for their commitment to the show and for their inordinate hard
work. Thank you also to Mr Morgan for his work on the technical side of things, ably
supported by Sam and Tanya in year 11 and to Mrs McIntosh and Miss Davenport for
the set design.

We also had a sixth form trip to Belgium this week where students visited the
European Parliament and some of the First World War cemeteries. A great time was
had by all and thank you to Mr Griffiths, Miss Daplyn and Miss Peacock for taking
the students.

It has been a very busy half term with lots going on and as always thank you for
your ongoing support. Please ensure that when your child returns after half term they
have all the right equipment and uniform. Remember ties and pencil cases can all
be purchased from the main office (which is open all next week) for £5 each.

We return to school on Monday 27th February after the half term break. The
Wednesday of that week (1st March) is the next day of NEU strike action and I will
have sent a letter to all parents via ParentMail by the end of today outlining our
plans for this day so please do ensure that you have read this letter. There will be
year 11 and post 16 mock exams taking place all next week and these will still be
going ahead on this day.

Thank you once more for your support and we will see you after the half term break.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
