Dear Families
Happy New Year to you all and a very warm welcome back to all of our students.
We have a number of new staff joining Campion this week and we wish them a very warm welcome too:
- Mrs Baldwin: Science Teacher and Co-Head of Year 11
- Mrs Jackson: Science Lead Practitioner
- Mr Bowers: Music Teacher
- Mrs Chavan: English Teacher
- Mrs Dempsey: Post 16 Pastoral Assistant
- Ms Perry: Office Administration
On Monday we held a staff training day. The focus on the day was on looking at some of our behaviour routines in school and also looking at oracy and literacy through our curriculum and we are very blessed to have such a talented staff here at Campion.
Thank you to all of the year 8 parents who came to parents evening on Wednesday. It was a great turnout (especially for a cold January evening!) and I know there were plenty of productive conversations happening throughout the evening.
For your information the parent voice from the year 10 parents evening is included within this bulletin.
Just a reminder about attendance as I am sure you will have seen a lot in the news about the attendance of pupils to school nationally. It is absolutely vital that you continue to send your child to school to school each day. If you need some guidance about when to keep your child off school then this information from the NHS is useful:

One more reminder about equipment. It is very important that your child comes to school each day with a fully stocked pencil case. This means that the learning in the classroom is disruption free and that your child is well prepared for their learning. These pencil cases can be purchased from the main office for £5.
I will leave you with this prayer for the new year
Kind Regards
Mr Grant
As the dawn breaks on a new year, let us give thanks for all we hold dear: our health, our family and our friends.
Let us release our grudges, our anger and our pains, for these are nothing but binding chains. Let us live each day in the most loving ways, the God-conscious way. Let us serve all who are in need, Let us keep God of our own understanding in our hearts. Let us lead the world from darkness to light, from falsehood to truth and from wrong to right. Let us remember that we are all one, embracing all, discriminating against none.
May your year be filled with peace, prosperity and love. May God's blessings shower upon you and bestow upon each of you a bright, healthy and peaceful new year. Amen
