Dear Families,
With it being International Women’s Day on Friday and Mother’s Day on Sunday, it is a great opportunity to celebrate all the Campion women who work wonders here at St Edmund Campion. We are very fortunate to have such talented staff members here who go far above to provide the very best for all our students.
We welcomed back some of our students from their trips this week. The first trip was to Barcelona for those students in Year 10 studying Spanish. A fabulous trip with some very sunny weather and a huge thank you to Mrs. Egan for organizing this trip and to Mrs. Murray and Mr. Griffiths for going with them. The second was our annual ski trip to Italy. Always a popular trip, and thank you to Miss Rochford and Mr. Fung for organizing, and thank you to Mr. Lees and Mr. Coleman for joining them. I know all the students had a fabulous time, and it is a testament to the staff who are willing to go over and above to provide these cultural opportunities for them.
Next Thursday is a very important evening for our Year 9 students. It is their parents/options evening when students will have the opportunity to talk to teachers about their Key Stage 4 options. The deadline for handing in your options form is Friday, 22nd March.
A reminder to all parents and students that our Easter term dates differ from Birmingham City Council and many other schools. Our last day of term will be Thursday, 28th March, with students returning to school on Tuesday, 16th April (with Monday, 15th being a teacher training day).
As you know, we have tightened up on our protocols around students arriving at school. It has had a very positive impact, and there are far fewer students arriving late to school. However, there are still a number who are persistently late, and this is something that does need addressing. It is vital that all students understand the importance of being on time, and it is our second standard: ‘Be On Time’.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our Muslim community Ramadan Mubarak. I hope it is a very special time for you and your families.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Grant
God of truth and grace, help us to uphold people’s freedom to express and live out their faith and speak up with respect and in peace for they believe. May our society increasingly show genuine tolerance to all; in education, the workplace and other spheres. Amen
