Dear Parents/Carers,
It was lovely to see so many of our families at the Y9 options/parents' evening on Wednesday, meeting with our staff to help them make informed decisions about their choices for next year and their GCSEs. Please remember all forms need to be returned by 22 March so that we can process them and begin groupings for next year.
Once again, this week here at Campion has been packed full of events and activities to support our young people.
Our 6th form has been undertaking their internal examinations so that we can check on their progress. This is particularly important for Y13 in the buildup to their A Levels in the summer. A big well done to the 6th form for the way in which they conducted themselves during this process.
This week we have also been capturing the thoughts and viewpoints of our students with our student voice. It really is important to us to hear what students feel about how our school functions on a daily basis and hear some of the ideas about how we can change and improve moving forward. It has been a privilege to read these.
In sports, our Y10 girls won the silver cup football tournament they took part in. There were three levels: gold, silver, and bronze, and our Y10 girls won the silver competition playing some excellent football! Well done to the team and Miss Adams for leading them!
As always, around the school, we continue to drive our standards. Just a reminder that hoodies are not allowed, and if a student wishes to wear another layer other than their coat, they can wear a black jumper under their blazer.
Punctuality continues to be a big focus for us this week, and I would again like to emphasize the importance of students being in school on time. Students need to be on the playground by 8:45, but it is advisable for them to be there by 8:40 to avoid picking up a late sanction, as the gates close at 8:45 sharp.
Once again, please also be mindful of the significance of being in school and not taking time off. Taking a day off means 5 hours of face-to-face teacher time lost, which is incredibly difficult to claw back.
A brief reminder that Y11 parents' evening will be on Wed 20 March.
Finally, as the weather begins to turn for the better (probably famous last words), I will leave you with this prayer for spring.
Mr. Harrison
Vice Principal
May the sunlight and the rain be reminders that You are at work renewing the earth. As a God of renewal, You are ever at work in our lives, too. Open our eyes and lives to the needed changes in our lives this Spring. Awaken us to new life and perspective, for we pray in Jesus' name.
Amen.
