Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine this week. Please do keep reminding your children to bring in their water bottles and keep hydrated throughout the day. With the weather looking much cooler next week we will be returning to full uniform so please ensure that your child comes to school with their blazer.
The year 11s had their last core exam this week as a whole year group. There are still a couple of exams next week but the vast majority have now come to an end. The pupils have been a credit to the school and to their families with their conduct throughout and we wish them every success with the results and look forward to welcoming most to our 6th form next year. Results day and 6th form enrolment are on the same day on 24th August so please do put that in your diary.
Well done to year 10 who have had examinations this week and their conduct has also been excellent throughout. They have a busy week of them next week so we wish them all well also.
It is our super learning day next Thursday. Year 7 will be doing lots of activities to do with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths); Year 8 will be having a day based around careers; Year 9 will be having their retreat culminating in Mass at the Abbey church; Year 10 will be looking at some aspects around keeping safe, particularly around appropriate relationships. Finally, year 12 will be doing some work on their UCAS applications. It promises to be a very busy but valuable day for all of our pupils and huge thank yous to all the staff involved in organising, preparing and delivering the day.
Please do keep reminding your children to come to school every day fully prepared to meet those six standards that form so much of what we expect of all our pupils here at Campion. Key aspects are about being fully prepared for learning at it is crucial that all pupils have the right equipment with them every day.
I hope all the Dads out there have a well-deserved break on Sunday for Father’s Day and I will leave you with this prayer for fathers:
God our father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers around the world who care and love us as you do
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
Amen
Kind regards
Mr A Grant
