Message from the Principal

27 October 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

As we come to the end of the first half term, I would like to express my thanks to you all as parents/carers for your ongoing support. It has been a long half term and summer seems a long time ago. Having said that, the half term has flown by with much to celebrate.

Thank you to all the year 10 parents who came to parents’ evening yesterday and thanks go to all the staff in attendance. It was a packed sports hall and I hope you were able to have a number of useful conversations with your child’s teachers. You will have received your child’s tracking data sheets which are based on the first set of assessments that were sat a couple of weeks ago. If you were unable to attend, these will be posted out to you.

On our return the year 11s and post 16 students will be sitting their first set of mock examinations. These begin the week commencing Monday 13th November and your child will have had their timetable of the exams. Please encourage them to revise over the half term break so that they are well prepared.

Over the half term break please do take the time to ensure that your child has everything they need on their return. It is vital that they have all the correct equipment (including a scientific calculator) as well as all the correct uniform. The office will be open throughout the week and all of the above can be purchased there.

Congratulations to our year 10 boys football team who had two very impressive victories this week against Handsworth Grammar and John Wilmott. Further congratulations to one of the year 7 Maths Challenge teams who came second in the very prestigious Catholic Partnership Maths Challenge this week. A very well done to the year 7 and 8 pupils who took part in the Winter Games at Bishop Walsh. A fantastic performance and the pupils came third!

We look forward to welcoming all of your children back on Monday 6th November.

Dear God Thank You for fearfully and wonderfully creating each of us. Thank You for giving us worth in Your eyes. Help us live as the one You uniquely intended us to be. Help us abide instead of strive, living peacefully and joyfully as heirs to Your Kingdom and co-heirs with Christ in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Kind Regards
