Dear Families
It has been another amazing week here at Campion with our school production of Sister
Act taking place. The cast have been an absolute credit to the school and it is always
wonderful to see the many God given talents of our pupils shining through. A special
mention to our lead Kelsie whose performance as Dolores has been superb. One thing we
always try to do with our productions is give many opportunities to our younger students
and to see Kelsie a year 7 student, shine so much makes us all very proud as a school
community. There will be photos on our website shortly.
Thank you to all the year 9 and 10 parents who have made their appointments for our
review day today. They are always very important appointments where you will have had
the opportunity to discuss your son or daughter’s academic progress. It will also have been
an opportunity for year 9 students and parents to discuss the options process with a
member of staff. This will be a key focus after half term and there will be plenty of
correspondence with parents and students about this. You will have received the booklet at
your appointment so please do take time to read through this.
After half term we have made the decision to change the format of key stage 3 TAG. We
have had a few logistical and staffing problems around TAG this year and we have
decided to replace it with a more structured PSHE lesson which pupils will mostly be taking
with their form tutors. More information will be provided to students after half term.
Please use the half term break to ensure that your son or daughter has everything they
need for their return to school on Monday 19th February. This includes a fully stocked pencil
case which you can buy from the main office for £5 as well as a scientific calculator also for
£6. Please also ensure that they are in full and correct uniform including blazer with school
badge.
Ash Wednesday takes place over half term which marks the beginning of the season of
Lent which we will be celebrating after half term.
God our Father, on the day of Baptism we were claimed for Christ our Saviour by the sign of
his Cross. On Ash Wednesday we come before you, desiring to fulfil our baptismal promises,
by living for Christ . And so, we pledge ourselves, in this Lenten season, to pray, to fast, and
to give alms. Amen
Kind Regards
Mr Grant
